Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MacroBite iOS application and the macrobite.app website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.

1. The Service

MacroBite provides nutrition information for chain-restaurant menu items, personalized calorie and macronutrient targets, and food-logging tools. Menu nutrition data is sourced from restaurants' officially published nutrition information.

2. Not medical advice

MacroBite is an informational tool, not a medical service. Calorie and macro targets are estimates produced by standard formulas and may not be appropriate for your individual health situation. The Service does not provide medical, dietetic, or health advice, and is not a substitute for guidance from a physician or registered dietitian — especially if you are pregnant, have a medical condition, have a history of disordered eating, or are taking medication that affects appetite or weight (including GLP-1 medications). Always consult a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet.

3. Accuracy of nutrition data

We source macros from official restaurant nutrition publications and link each item to its source. However, restaurants change recipes, portions vary by location and preparation, and published data can lag reality. We cannot guarantee that any nutrition figure is accurate, current, or complete. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, do not rely on MacroBite's allergen tags — always confirm ingredients directly with the restaurant before ordering.

4. Accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide and for keeping your sign-in credentials secure. You may delete your account at any time in the app's settings.

5. Subscriptions, free trial, and billing

• Some features require a paid subscription ("MacroBite Pro"), offered as an auto-renewing yearly or monthly plan. Current prices are shown in the app before purchase; promotional and introductory offers may apply.
• New subscribers receive a 3-day free trial. You get full access immediately; payment is charged to your Apple ID when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID is charged within 24 hours prior to renewal.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, or at apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Cancelling stops future renewals; periods already paid for are not refunded, and unused trial time is forfeited when you purchase.
• All billing is processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, scrape, or bulk-extract the Service or its data;
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the Service;
• Use the Service to violate any law or third-party right;
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its design, software, and content compilations, is owned by MacroBite and protected by applicable intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service.

8. Third-party trademarks

Restaurant names and brands referenced in the Service (such as McDonald's, Chipotle, or Chick-fil-A) are trademarks of their respective owners. MacroBite is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any restaurant. Nutrition data is referenced from publicly published sources for informational purposes.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT NUTRITION DATA IS ACCURATE OR CURRENT.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MACROBITE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY HEALTH OUTCOMES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Termination

You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for violation of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 8–10) survive.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the effective date above and, where appropriate, communicated in the app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of MacroBite resides, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction unless applicable consumer law provides otherwise.
